Water Supply
This muddy pond is a water
supply for many of the people
in Bulanga village. It's filled
with so many impurities that
even boiling the water won't
completely purify it.
Hope Child Care Programme
The AIDS pandemic has devastated millions of lives in Africa. In Bulanga village this has left hundreds of children without their parents. The Hope Child Care Programme operates an orphanage and boarding school to meet the needs of more than 150 of these kids. With over 20 acres suited for facilities, agriculture and livestock, their mission is to provide safety and security to AIDS orphans, and care and support to the victims of this disease. Currently, HCCP collects rainwater as their main water supply. However, rains are seasonal, and can't provide enough water for their growing needs.
A 90 Meter Borehole Can Change Their Lives
There is clean water beneath the surface. Less than 100 meters down there is pure water but it is out of reach. However, for around $10,000 USD we can drill a borehole for HCCP that can provide more than enough pure water for the orphanage and for the people of Bulanga village.
Meet Godfrey
Meet Godfrey. He lives in Bulanga village, not far from the orphanage. Today, Godfrey has no access to clean water. But if a borehole is drilled at the orphanage, then Godfrey and hundreds of other villagers like him can get water that won't make them sick.
